Patents, 16 November 2017

The Licensing and Intellectual Property Department of JINR announces that on 16 October 2017, the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research received a patent for the invention “Device for emission and mass spectral analysis of organic substances”. The authors of the work are Tyutyunnikov Sergej Ivanovich and Shalyapin Valerij Nikolaevich.

JINR staff congratulates the authors on receiving the patent for their invention!

More details about the invention

The device for emission and mass spectroscopic analysis of organic substances contains a nozzle for supplying working gas, a plasma torch, a plasma-forming electrode, an additional electrode, an RF generator, the output of which is connected to the said electrodes, and a radiation spectrum analyser, in which both of the said electrodes are arranged in the form of horizontally arranged metal cylinders, into the inner cavity of which fittings are inserted in the form of ceramic tubes to supply and output a mixture of working gas and matter, and the said torch is made in the form of a ceramic pipe connecting both electrodes, the center of which is coupled with the optical connector window or aperture for outputting radiation, on which the third grounded annular electrode is coaxially located. The nozzle with the optical window and the third grounded annular electrode is made in the form of a metal cylinder with a hole for the passage of the working gas and with a cavity for introducing substances, and this radiation is output through an additional electrode connector. EFFECT: providing an opportunity to analyse the atomic composition of organic substances, namely the composition of organic substances with a temperature of heat resistance of not more than 300 degrees.
