Polish delegation visit

On 15 November 2013, a delegation of the largest research organization in Poland, National Center for Nuclear Research (Warsaw), paid a visit to Special Economic Zone “Dubna”.

The delegation of the National Center for Nuclear Research of Poland was headed by Vice-Director for Economic and Development Affairs Zbigniew Golembiewski and accompanied by Wladislaw Chmielowski, Assistant Head of the Science Organization and International Cooperation Office of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Candidate of Physics and Maths and Head of the national group of the Republic of Poland at JINR.

Standing in front of a model of potential development of Special Eonomic Zone “Dubna”, Head of the Department for Interaction with Residents Alexey Stepanenko, reported on advantages of initiating business projects at the innovation territory, the infrastructure of Special Economic Zone and Russian and foreign companies working here. He answered numerous questions of the attendees. At the permanent exhibition of residents’ projects, Polish colleagues were mainly interested in developments in the fields of IT technologies and in the projects undertaken by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in SZE.

“We are trying to actively involve scientific organizations and companies from the JINR Member States into development of the Dubna SZE,” – Wladislaw Chmielowski said at the end of the meeting. “This is the first introductory visit to SZE of the National Center for Nuclear Research staff. It was very useful for us. The point is that there are several scientific and technological parks in Poland nowadays: in Krakow, Wroсław, Gdynia and other cities. Moreover, new ones are being established. So, we definitely need experience that your specialists have. First of all, it is needed in terms of expanding benefits, providing a good living conditions for specialists. Today, we learned a lot about the projects and developments that have been implemented and are carried out in Special Economic Zone “Dubna”. There are fields we are interested in. We will definitely discuss the possibility of cooperation of Polish companies employed in the fields of high tech, IT and application of nuclear technologies for industrial needs, and the possibility of becoming residents of Special Economic Zone “Dubna.”
