Session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of JINR

On 25 March 2019, the session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States will be held in the International Conference Hall.

JINR Director Academician V. A. Matveev will report on the results of work in 2018 and on recommendations of the 125th meeting of the JINR Scientific Council (February 2019).

Deputy Chief of the JINR Finance and Economy Office M. P. Vasiliev will report on the JINR budget implementation in 2018 and will present a draft of the revised JINR budget for 2019. Participants of the Session will consider the milestones of the JINR Finance Committee, which has traditionally preceded the Session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries, as well as proposals on choosing an audit firm for the audit of the JINR financial activity of 2018.

JINR Vice-Director V. D. Kekelidze will present information about the current status of the “NICA Complex” mega-science project and will report on the implementation of the budget in the frames of the agreement between JINR and the Government of the Russian Federation. DLNP Deputy Director D. V. Naumov will speak about the present state of the Baikal-GVD project. FLNR Director S. N. Dmitriev will make a report on the current status of the Factory of superheavy elements.

On 25 March, participants of the Session will take part in the events devoted to the opening of the experimental hall of the Factory of superheavy elements and launch of its basic facility – the DC-280 cyclotron.

The Session will be traditionally concluded with general discussion, adoption of decisions and signing of a protocol.

In the frames of the CPP Session, a ceremonial opening of the alley named after A. Hrynkiewicz, an outstanding Polish physicist and organizer of science, JINR Vice-Director in 1966 – 1968, will be held.

On 26 March, Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States, representatives of a number of Embassies, guests from scientific centers of Russia and other countries, together with JINR staff members will participate in ceremonial events dedicated to the JINR Foundation Day. Following a tradition, awarding of certificates to Dubna teachers who have won the annual JINR Grant Competition will be held in the Cultural Centre “Mir”.
