Virtual SHE seminars

Seminars

Despite the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic slowing down the international collaboration and in-person contacts, the investigations of superheavy elements and publishing new results were continuing. As scientists cannot meet during any conference, the National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ, Poland) has decided to create a series of virtual talks dedicated to the research on superheavy nuclei (SHE).

Seminars will take place on Tuesdays at 1 PM GMT (4 PM Moscow time) on the platform GoToMeeting. The link to all the semianrs will be always the same, no registration is required. Up-to-date information and agenda for future seminars are available on the website.

We kindly invite you to take part in the upcoming virtual seminar scheduled for Tuesday, 8 December, at 4 PM (Moscow time).

Programme of the seminar:

  1. Speaker: Kouichi Hagino (Kyoto University, Japan)

Topic: “Role of quantum mechanics in a diffusion process for fusion for super heavy elements”

  2. Speaker: Taiki Tanaka (ANU, Canberra, Australia)

Topic: “Fusion dynamics in the synthesis of superheavy elements: role of static deformation of actinoid target nucleus and a new method to estimate the optimum incident energy to synthesize unknown superheavy elements”

All seminars will be recorded and available afterwards on the seminar web. For any inquiries, please contact the organizers via the e-mail: vshe@ncbj.gov.pl.
