Governing and Advisory Bodies
A system of governing and advisory bodies manages the Institute and the formation of its scientific and financial policies. The highest governing body is the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Governments of the JINR Member States.

The Institute’s scientific, administrative, and economic activities are managed by the Directorate headed by the Institute’s Director. Other members of the Directorate are the Scientific Leader, Vice-Directors, Laboratory Directors, the Chief Scientific Secretary, and the Chief Engineer.

The Institute’s scientific infrastructure includes seven large laboratories. In terms of the scale of their studies, human resources, and technological potential, each one is comparable to an independent research institute. Educational activities and personnel training are carried out at the JINR University Centre.
