Seminars

Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions

Joint Laboratory Seminar

Date and Time: Wednesday, 17 March 2021, at 4:00 PM

Venue: online seminar on Webex, Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions

Seminar topic: «Nuclear frontiers with Active Targets»

Speaker: Grigory Rogachev (Department of Physics & Astronomy, Texas A&M University, USA)

Abstract:

Active Target detector systems have a number of unique features that make them particularly useful for applications with rare isotope beams. I will review recent results that were obtained using Texas Active Target detector system (TexAT), ranging from beta-delayed charged particle emission measurements to resonance reactions, to fusion and nucleon transfer reactions with radioactive beams. The emphasis will be on current scientific opportunities, future perspectives and challenges of active target detector systems.

Instruction for using the Webex system is available via the link.
