Seminar topic: “Physics in the BESIII Experiment: Recent Results and Prospects”

Speaker: Igor Boiko

Abstract:

The BESIII experiment at the electron-positron collider BEPCII is the world’s leading project in its research area. The experiment has collected data sets of unprecedented statistics and quality for collision energies from 2.0 to 4.9 GeV. The machine is being upgraded to reach the collision energy of 5.6 GeV in 2025. The BESIII physics program includes light hadron spectroscopy, open charm and tau physics, as well as spectroscopy of charmonia states and study of exotic XYZ states.

The status of the experiment, its recent results and prospects will be presented.
