Seminar topic: “Phenomenological model for description of fission cross sections of heavy nuclei in high energy region”

Speaker: V. I. Yurevich

Abstract:

A phenomenological model for approximation and numerical estimation of fission cross sections was developed for interactions of high-energy nucleons with heavy nuclei. The model predictions of fission cross sections are compared with the most reliable experimental data, available estimations and recent theoretical results for different nuclei from 181Ta to 239Pu. The model well reproduces the experimental results above 30 MeV for actinides and above 50 MeV for pre-actinides and it has good prediction potential.
