AYSS seminar in JINR Scientists’ Club

Seminars

On 17 November 2022, at 4:00 PM, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR invites you to the next seminar that will take place in the hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club (6, Joliot-Curie street, left side).

Vladimir Zhaketov (BLTP) will make a report “Neutron optics and magnetic heterostructures”. Vladimir will speak about low dimensional magnetic and superconducting heterostructures actively studied at the present time. One of the effective methods of studying magnetism is reflectometry of polarised neutrons aimed at obtaining isotopic and magnetic profiles with nanometer depth resolution. The report will present the way this method works. In addition, Vladimir will demonstrate application examples of reflectometry at the REMUR spectrometre of polarised neutrons located at the beamline 8 of the IBR-2 pulse reactor. The speaker will consider low temperature studies of proximity effects in superconducting ferromagnetic systems and rare-earth films with nontrivial magnetic ordering.

There will be a small coffee break at 4:00 PM, which precedes the seminar. The report will start at 4:15 PM.

If you are going to join the event of 17 November, please take part in the survey via the link not later than 4:00 PM 16 November.
