Abstract
Due to the rapid development of information technology over the past two decades, many software products, being actual and relevant a few years ago, have been currently considered as obsolete. At the same time, it is easy to see that many of the engineering products designed decades ago, are still in mass production and wide use. In this regard, today one can sometimes observes a paradoxical situation, when large and commercially successful companies continue using the outdated software and hardware, due to the high complexity of migrating the accumulated over the years information onto the present-day software and hardware platforms.
The author proposes a modified method of removing the outdated software out of operation by migrating its data onto modern software and hardware.
