Seminar topic: “Neutron stars: structure and properties”
Speaker: Andrey Yudin (NRC “Kurchatov Institute”)
Abstract:
The speaker will talk about neutron stars, their structure and properties. The main focus will be on how these internal properties of neutron stars are related to high-energy astrophysical phenomena: supernova explosions and gamma-ray bursts. The problem of the formation of heavy elements in nature (the r-process) accompanying the merging of neutron stars will also be considered.
