Seminar topic: “Modelling the interaction of high-energy heavy ions with metals based on the development of a continuum-atomic approach”
Speaker: Zafar Tukhliev
The report presents the study of radiation damage (tracks, structural defects, pores) occurring in metals when irradiated with high-energy heavy ions. The study was conducted based on a combination of the thermal spike model and the molecular dynamics method. The stages of model development are presented: 1) Thermal spike model taking into account phase transitions. 2) An approach based on the consistent and combined application of the thermal spike model and the molecular dynamics method. 3) A plan for future scientific research.
