Seminar topic: “On methods of eliminating positive feedback in periodic pulsed reactors”

Speaker: Aleksandr Verkhoglyadov, Valentina Verkhoglyadova

Abstract:

The paper investigates the phenomenon of transverse bending of rod fuel elements of the active zone under the influence of temperature, which plays an important role in the dynamics of a periodic pulsed reactor. Analytical calculation of thermoelastic deformation showed that positive feedback is directly related to the method of fixing the fuel elements. The author demonstrates a way of fixing them that eliminates the positive effect of reactivity and proposes technical solutions of the problem.
