Аннотация:

A systematic study of fusion-fission mechanism is crucial for understanding the complex dynamical evolution of a composite system formed in heavy-ion induced reactions. The formation of heavy and superheavy evaporation residues is found to be significantly hindered not only by equilibrium fission but also by other competing binary processes, such as quasifission and fast fission, which occur following the non-compound equilibration of the system. Therefore, the experimental proposal based on the on-going collaborative experiment at the double-arm time-of-flight spectrometer CORSET facility will be discussed during the seminar. The primary objective of the research activity would be to explore the influence of entrance channel parameters on the binary fission-like processes. The proposed study focuses on the reactions 16O + 191Ir, 31P + 176Yb, and 48Ca + 159Tb, all forming the same compound nucleus. Complementary measurements on angular distributions of fission fragments will be conducted in India using the accelerator facilities at TIFR Mumbai and IUAC New Delhi. Experimental findings from the reaction 12C + 193Ir investigated at IUAC through offline gamma-ray spectroscopy will also be presented.
