Abstract:

The authors present the results of a comprehensive modernisation of the PSD2SAS software — a data converter for the position-sensitive detector (PSD) of the YuMO Small-Angle Neutron Scattering Spectrometer. The modernisation focused on three key aspects: transition to the ROOT data format, which simplified the workflow and doubled data reading speed; the correction of accuracy algorithms, including the elimination of data loss at detector edges and introduction of analytical area intersection calculations; and the optimisation of multithreading, achieving an overall 2.9× performance improvement. The program has become faster, more accurate, and more user-friendly, significantly enhancing experimental data processing capabilities for the YuMO Spectrometer.
