Abstract:

The time-dependent Hartree–Fock equations are solved by the Wigner Function Moments method using a separable Hamiltonian that couples electric dipole (E1) and magnetic quadrupole (M2) modes. Energies and reduced transition probabilities of Kπ=0, 1 and 2 excitations are calculated for 164Dy.

The spin degrees of freedom give rise to the electric Spin Dipole Resonance. Its properties and interplay with the Giant Dipole Resonance are investigated. The deformation-induced splitting of the spin M2 resonance is studied. The relationship between spin-flip and spin-vector excitations is discussed, and their contribution to the formation of the modes under consideration is analyzed.

The results of the calculations are compared with the available experimental data and other theoretical studies.
