Seminar topic: “Modeling of interaction processes of high-energy heavy ions with metals using a combination of thermal spike and molecular dynamics methods”
Speaker: Zafar Tukhliev
The methods, program complexes, and results of numerical studies of physical processes occurring in metallic targets under the influence of high-energy heavy ions are presented. The proposed approach is based on the combined application and development of thermal spike and molecular dynamics methods. This hybrid approach allows for efficient modeling of atomic-level processes, ensuring high accuracy and detail of the results. Based on the conducted numerical study, estimates have been obtained for regions within metals where irradiation-induced melting and crystallization processes lead to structural changes in the target material’s crystal lattice.
