LABORATORY SEMINAR

Date and Time: Thursday, 19 January 2017, at 4:00 PM

Venue: Blokhintsev Hall (4th floor), Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics

Seminar topic: «Exotic Hadrons»

Speaker: N.I. Kochelev

Abstract:

The experimental and theoretical studies of the exotic hadrons are reviewed. We discuss the properties of the multiquarks and glueballs from the point of view of the different types of the quark-quark, quark-gluon, and gluon-gluon interactions arising from perturbative and nonperturbative sectors of QCD. The important role played by the complicated structure of the QCD vacuum in the exotic hadron spectroscopy is emphasized. We will pay the special attention to the physics of so-called XYZ-mesons and pentaquarks having a heavy quark inside. The final point, which will be presented, is the possible significant effect of glueballs on the properties of the hot/dense matter created in the relativistic heavy ion collisions.
