Abstract:

Investigation of chaotic states in Josephson junctions has great role for its practical application. Due to this we consider chaos in single Josephson junction and also in the system of coupled Josephson junctions. We have used capacitively coupled Josephson junctions (CCJJ+DC) with diffusion current model to calculate voltage-current characteristics, Lyapunov exponents and bifurcation diagrams. Results on the study of the devil’s staircase as in single Josephson junction and in the stack of coupled junctions are presented. The influence of coupling parameter, dissipation parameter, frequency and amplitude of external electromagnetic radiation on chaotic regions and subharmonic structure in IV-characteristics will be discussed.
