Abstract

The parameters of proton accelerators of existing and projected neutron sources (ISIS, SNS, J-PARC, ESS, etc.) for investigations on extracted beams are reviewed. Possible variants of the proton accelerator for the Dubna fourth-generation neutron source within the concept of NEPTUN superbooster and the steps necessary for its implementation are proposed for discussion.
