Seminar topic: “Neutron storage rings. Evaluation of neutron fundamental properties”

Speaker: Yuri Nikitenko

Abstract: Various types of neutron storage rings on the pulsed source have been studied. Neutron rings are characterised by a high flux density and the lifetime of neutrons in the ring is hundreds of seconds. The capable measurements of the fundamental properties of neutrons, namely, the lifetime and the charge of a neutron, the characteristic times of transformation of a neutron into an antineutron and a mirror neutron have been investigated on neutron storage rings. It has been shown that at the neutron storage ring it is possible to significantly improve the currently achieved experimental estimates of the fundamental properties of a neutron.
