Date and time: Tuesday, 28 April 2026, at 3:30 PM

Venue: Conference Hall, Flerov Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions

Seminar topic: “Scintillation and microstrip silicon detectors for the EXPERT Project at GSI/FAIR”

Speaker: Bulat Khamidullin

Abstract:

Experiments with light isotopes near the limits of nuclear stability are of great interest due to the lack of study of such nuclei and reactions of proton and neutron radioactivity, observed in these nuclei. FLNR sector 6 took part in such experiments both at ACCULINNA-2 setup and abroad for many years. This work describes methodological developments for the EXPERT project at GSI/FAIR, Darmstadt. Obtained results and experience are of interest to ACCULINNA-2 as well. Tests of CsI(Tl) modules of GADAST detector and implementation of these modules in ExpertRoot modeling and reconstruction package also used at ACCULINNA-2 are presented. In addition to it in May 2025 an experiment was conducted at FRS (GSI) to obtain 5Be, 6Be, 7C exotic isotopes using primary carbon-12 beam with an energy of 860 MeV/ nucleon. One of the detector systems used was four pairs of FOOT microstrip silicon detectors. The results of studying detector efficiency, refining their positioning based on data and reconstructing beam particle and reaction product tracks using FOOT detectors will be presented Approaches to particle identification will also be discussed.
