Laboratory of Radiation Biology
Krasavin seminar on radiation biology
Date and Time: Tuesday, 9 June 2026, at 15:00
Venue: Conference Hall (bld. 113, 4th floor), Laboratory of Radiation Biology
Seminar topic: “Boron-containing quantum dots as a promising agent for diagnostics and boron neutron capture therapy of cancer”
Speaker: Elena Gribova (Dubna State University)
Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a rapidly developing selective method for destroying cancer cells without the side effects associated with conventional radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Its success will be determined by the development of effective boron-containing agents with a high boron-10 content and new approaches for targeted delivery of therapeutic agents to tumours. The use of boron-containing quantum dots and their conjugates with biovectors has been proposed as promising agents for BNCT.
