In the recent Oslo Experiment, the M1 scissor mode (SM) was observed in heavy deformed nucleus 254No [1]. In connection with this experiment, researchers extend previous analysis of low-energy spectra of nobelium isotopes [2] to description of low-energy M1 excitations in 254No. The calculations are performed within fully self-consistent Quasiparticle Random Phase Approximation (QRPA) with Skyrme forces SG2, SG2+J2 and Sly5. The low-energy spectra of M1 states, their orbital and spin M1 responses and corresponding current distributions are investigated. A reasonable agreement with the experimental data for SM is obtained. The calculations demonstrate: i) a significant constructive interference of the orbital and spin fractions in M1 responses, ii) a correlation of orbital M1 response with electric quadrupole E21 response, iii) a noticeable impact of J2 term. It is remarkable that calculated distributions of the convective nuclear currents differ from the familiar picture of the scissors-like isovector oscillation of protons and neutrons.
