Flavour physics as bridge to dark matter and strong CP problem

Abstract:

The flavour puzzle may provide a window into a more fundamental sector beyond the Standard Model. In this seminar, the speaker explores the possibility that the dynamics responsible for flavour also connect the visible sector to dark matter and to new sources of CP violation. In particular, CP violation may originate in a hidden sector and be communicated to the visible sector through flavour interactions. This framework can therefore relate the flavour puzzle not only to dark matter and weak CP violation, but also to the strong CP problem, suggesting that these apparently distinct phenomena may share a common underlying origin.
