Abstract:

Analysis of the tensor interaction effects on the Gamow-Teller (GT) strength function is carried out for hot nuclei embedded in stellar matter. The GT strength functions, as well as electron capture and β-decay rates for 56,78Ni, are calculated within a thermodynamically consistent approach based on thermal QRPA with the Skyrme interaction. Various Skyrme interactions are used in order to study the sensitivity of the obtained results on the Skyrme force parameters. It is shown that the increase of temperature leads to amplification of tensor correlation effects on the GT strength function.
