Abstract:

To search for electric dipole moments (EDM) of proton and deuteron a new scheme of providing Transparent Spin (TS) mode in the NICA collider is proposed. The scheme uses both rings of the NICA collider. After each revolution, particles are transferred from one ring to another. The length of the closed orbit is two times the perimeter of one ring. The TS mode is provided by double passing through the same solenoid located in the opposite to the particles transferring place straight section. At the TS mode, the influence of the ring’s magnetic lattice on the spins due to the magnetic dipole moment (MDM) is compensated. The idea of the EDM search experiment is to use the coherent enhancement of the EDM signal by using additional magnetic fields while the MDM signal remains compensated. Heavy ions NICA lattice allows one to search for the EDM of proton and deuteron by using the longitudinal field of the MPD Detector
