Baikal-GVD Neutrino Telescope

Seminars

On Thursday, 23 July 2020, at 10:00 AM, the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Academy of Sciences of China, Beijing, will hold a Zoom seminar.

In the frames of the event Dmitry Naumov will deliver the report “Baikal-GVD Neutrino Telescope”. The working language of the seminar is English.

Abstract:

Baikal Neutrino Telescope pioneered the field about 40 years ago. From 2014 the Baikal-GVD Collaboration is constructing a cubic km scale detector. Today, the effective volume of the Baikal-GVD for neutrino induced shower events is estimated to be 0.35 km3, making it the largest Neutrino Telescope in the Northern Hemisphere. We review the status of the detector deployment, current research results and further plans.

About the speaker:

Dmitry V. Naumov is Deputy Director of Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems JINR. He is the PI of JINR Neutrino programme, a member of Baikal-GVD, JUNO, and Daya Bay Collaborations.
