First Star: Birth of New Interaction exhibition

From 26 March to 1 June 2026, the JINR Mir Cultural Centre is hosting the exhibition enitled “The First Star: The Birth of a New Interaction”, dedicated to the history of the establishment of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in 1954–1956.

The exhibition features materials from the JINR collections of scientific and technical documentation, along with state, departmental, institutional, and family archives. These include recently declassified documents being shown to the public for the very first time, alongside unique film and photo chronicles, and rare audio recordings. For example, visitors will be able to hear the voices of participants and witnesses of that time (including Mikhail Meshcheryakov, Dmitry Blokhintsev, and others).

For general admission, the exhibition will be open daily from 1:00 to 7:00 PM (except Mondays) at the exhibition hall of the JINR Mir Cultural Centre. Admission is free.
