Guttenberg’s Smoking Room is the format of meetings for a wide audience at which participants retell non-fiction books: documentaries or science-popular books on any knowledge field (except for religion, esotery, and politics). After each retelling, the audience may ask questions and make comments.
This time, the following books will be presented:
- “Science fictions: How fraud, bias, negligence, and hype undermine the search for truth”, Stuart Ritchie. Presentation by Ilya Gapienko.
- “Gossip about artists: How Dali sold his mustache and other stories from the lives of geniuses”, Dina Syomkina. Presentation by Nina Semina.
- Volcanism and civilisation from Kamchatka to Mars”, Gennady Karpov and Vladimir Kiryanov. Presentation by Ekaterina Sokirko.
- “A history of solitude”, David Vincent. Presentation by Iulia Popova.
Participants can enjoy tea and discussions between the talks.
