On 20–23 May 2025, the 67th International Fair of Technics and Technical Achievements is taking place in Belgrade with the participation of a Joint Institute for Nuclear Research delegation. The JINR booth presents information on the Institute’s main facilities, projects, and educational programmes, along with the results of joint research with partners from Serbia.
One of the elements that the JINR delegation presented is a prototype of a preparative system for tangential flow filtration of solutions, developed by the Centre of Applied Physics at the Laboratory of Nuclear Reactions at JINR. Visitors can observe the filtration of a solution imitating hemoglobin in real time. The system is designed for micro, ultra, and diafiltration in a tangential flow of various solutions and can be used in fields such as medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, food industry, and others. In addition, guests can get acquainted with the JINR technology for producing track membranes, their samples and modifications, and products based on them.
On the first day of the fair, one of the State Secretaries of the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Serbia, Marija Gnjatović, and Serbia–JINR Cooperation Coordinator, Deputy Director of the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences Marija Janković visited the JINR booth. The Institute’s employees told their colleagues about the joint work with scientific and educational institutions of Serbia carried out in recent years. The State Secretary noted the Joint Institute’s unique approach to the development of new membrane materials and suggested discussing the opportunities for JINR’s cooperation with the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy of the University of Belgrade, which she had headed until recently.
In addition, the JINR scientists participated in several panel discussions at the fair, which covered a wide range of relevant topics of innovative development and international cooperation. In addition to the Joint Institute, about 350 organizations from 19 countries took part in the event.
