On 31 August 2026, a cooperation agreement was concluded between the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research and TV BRICS, the official media network of the BRICS countries. The document was signed by JINR Director, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Grigory Trubnikov and TV BRICS CEO, Editor-in-Chief Janna Tolstikova. The parties will aim to strengthen collaboration between the BRICS+ countries in science, technology, and innovation, develop international expert communities, popularise scientific knowledge, and increase the prestige of research activities.

Grigory Trubnikov noted that the signing of the agreement between JINR and TV BRICS is a completely natural and timely step for the organizations, both focused on developing multilateral international cooperation and strengthening mutual understanding and trust between the peoples of different countries.
“The Joint Institute for Nuclear Research is an international organization with 70 years of experience in integrating the scientific potential of many countries to conduct multidisciplinary research, one of the largest in the world. The overwhelming majority of the BRICS Member States and partners are represented among the Member States and partners of our Institute. In general, research organizations from several dozen countries participate in JINR’s studies at a modern large-scale infrastructure. Our Institute’s various significant events may be of interest to the multi-million audience of the TV BRICS international media network. I am confident that this document will lay a solid foundation for fruitful long-term cooperation”, Grigory Trubnikov commented on the concluded agreement.
Today, TV BRICS is increasingly covering the scientific and technological potential of the BRICS Member States and partners in the global media space. Janna Tolstikova stressed that working together with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will raise the importance of discussing scientific and technological progress and enhance expert engagement within the media network.
“Cooperation in science, technology, and innovation is one of the priorities of BRICS and the editorial policy of TV BRICS. In 2026, we focused on combining industry expertise and creating a united analytical space for the Member States and partners of the association. Studies and ratings presented by the media network are aimed at developing cooperation between the BRICS+ countries in certain fields of knowledge and strengthening intergovernmental collaboration. The involvement of JINR as a key player in the global scientific agenda in the TV BRICS media field will help popularise fundamental studies and the practical application of their results, unite the international scientific community, and train a new generation of researchers”, the CEO of TV BRICS said.
Background information
The TV BRICS international media network was established in 2017 as a practical implementation of a proposal supported by the leaders of Brazil, China, India, Russia, and South Africa regarding the need to distribute objective information about the activities of the BRICS. The headquarters of the media network is located in Moscow.
TV BRICS is a system of multilateral information exchange between the media of the BRICS+ countries, which includes a multilingual website and round-the-clock TV channels in six languages.
Over 100 media structures from more than 30 countries act as permanent partners of TV BRICS, and the media network covers 80 countries. The total audience coverage of the partner network exceeds 1.5 billion users.
The mission of TV BRICS is to create a unified BRICS information space, to disseminate objective information about the humanitarian and economic activities of the participants and partners of the association.
