On Wednesday, 26 September 2018, at 7:00 PM «Mosconcert» will present Literary theatre “Word’s Academy” with Literary – musical project “Classics for “A”» (part 2) – A.S. Pushkin, S.V. Rakhmaninov “Gypsies” – in the JINR Club of Scientists.

“Gypsies” – the last southern romantic poem of Alexander Pushkin. After spending several days in the camp of Bessarabian Gypsies, Alexander Sergeevich worked on the poem from January to October 1824, first in Odessa, then in Mikhailovskoe. Sergei Rachmaninov wrote his first opera “Aleko” on the plot of “Gypsies” in 1892. The programme of the Literary theater is a symbiosis of poem and opera music.

The performance is featured by: Sergey Michailovskiy, Director and Artistic Director of the Literary theatre, a laureat of the All-Russian contest of performers and reciters; Ivan Shcheglov, actor of the Literary theatre; a laureats of an international contests: Alexander Blok, the orchestration author to the whole project, a pianist and composer and Ivan Pokrovsky (violin).
