From 13 August to 10 September 2025, the JINR Mir Cultural Centre invites everyone interested to the photo exhibition dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Yuri Shcherbakov (1925-1994), a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Professor, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, JINR Scientific Secretary.
Yuri Shcherbakov (1925-1994) was a famous experimental physicist who worked for over 40 years at the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems. He organized scientific activities, was a prolific public figure, and represented JINR when the Institute started establishing international contacts. Yuri Shcherbakov was a long-time JINR Chief Scientific Secretary. Along with his extensive research, he performed significant administrative work, contributing to the progress and planning of scientific activities, the development of JINR, and the strengthening of international collaboration.
An opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on 13 August, at 5:00 PM.
The exhibition will be open daily from 1:00 to 7:00 PM (except Monday) at the exhibition hall of the JINR Mir Cultural Centre. Admission is free.
