On 8 April 2014, the LHCb Collaboration released new results on their unambiguous observation of a particle that seems to be made of four quarks. Until 2003, all particles that had been found were always made of two or three quarks. LHCb has now such a large sample that it can rule out several possibilities and the two remaining options both correspond to a new type of state. Details…
