Abstract We build a pathway between two kinds of evolution equations, the one of which is generated by a finite dimensional matrix, and the other one, is generated by the characteristic polynomial of this matrix. The former is given by a linear system of equations whereas the latter is presented by the system of high order Riccati equations. It is shown, in order to construct the mapping between solutions of these equations one has to extend the concept of  evolution  generated  by  the  finite  dimensional  operator. Possible applications of the method in physics is discussed.
