Pushkin poetry recitation contest

On 6 June 2025 at 6:00 PM, the JINR Mir Cultural Centre invites everyone interested to the Alexander Pushkin poetry recitation contest.
The contest, dedicated to the poet’s birthday, will tale place as part of the painting exhibition by Boris Makarov and aimed on the popularisation of the poet’s work, supporting the artistic word and cultural heritage.
The format of the event is open mic, the number of contestants is limited.
The main prize is a painting from the exhibition of Boris Makarov based on Pushkin’s work.
Special nominations:
- For carrying on the tradition (traditional performance);
- Modern View (non-standard interpretation);
- Audience Award: voting via social networks using the #ВспомнимПушкина hashtag.
Contest has no age, professional, or other restrictions for participation. The poetry must be in Russian (translations are allowed as long as the original author is credited).
Performance requirements:
- Reading by heart (participants with disabilities are allowed to use text);
- Time limit is 5 minutes;
- Theatrical elements are allowed (costumes, props appropriate to Pushkin’s era/theme);
- Background music and electronic effects are prohibited.
Evaluation criteria:
- Performance accuracy (remembering of the text);
- Artistry (emotionality, diction, contact with the audience);
- Depth of interpretation (expression of the meaning of the work);
- Originality (creative approach).
The admission is free.
