Winter swimming seminar

On 19 April 2026, at 12:00 PM, the JINR Universal Public Library invites everyone interested to a winter swimming seminar.

Topics:

• What is winter swimming? What conditions and disciplines do athletes compete in? Winter swimming standards.
• Differences between pool and winter swimming.
• Body functioning mechanisms in low temperatures, thermoregulation methods, as well as physiological and psychological aspects of cold perception.

Speakers: Natalia Vasilyeva, Head Coach of the Moscow Region winter swimming team, Master of Sports in modern pentathlon, and a Russian and world record holder in winter swimming; Alexander Vyskrebentsev, president of the Moscow Region Winter Swimming Federation and a member of the Moscow Region winter swimming team.
