JINR faces

A constellation of outstanding physicists from various countries made a significant contribution to the shaping of the fields of scientific research conducted at the Institute at different stages of its development.

We cherish the memory of the stellar cast of eminent scientists, fathers of JINR that was established on the basis of two Soviet research institutes. The ultimate source of pride and the fundamental activity of JINR are the word-class schools of science in the field of theoretical and experimental physics. As a result of their work, the main fields of JINR scientific research were shaped, the unique experimental facilities created, and the proprietary experimental techniques developed. It is worth noting that the solid traditions of the schools kept the Institute up and afloat in the rough time of the late 20th century.
