Seminar topic: “The RED-100 experiment at the Kalinin NPP”
Speaker: Dmitry Akimov
Abstract:
The goal of the experiment is the first observation of the recently discovered process of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) for reactor antineutrinos.
The characteristics of the RED-100 liquid xenon two-phase emission detector are described, and also the entire experimental setup. The setup is located under the active zone of the reactor of the 4th power unit of the Kalinin NPP (KNPP) at a distance of 19 m from it.
The setup was shipped to KNPP for deployment at the beginning of 2021, prepared for operation and tuned. A set of experimental data was acquired, covering both the reactor OFF and ON periods. Currently, the data are being analysed, and the RED-100 setup is being prepared for the upgrade for the second stage of the experiment at KNPP.
