Seminar topic: “Numerical analysis of pion-nucleus, proton-nucleus, and nucleus-nucleus scattering using microscopic potential models”
Speaker: Konstantin Lukyanov
Abstract:
The results of numerical analysis of pion-nucleus, proton-nucleus, and nucleus-nucleus scattering in a wide range of incident energies are presented. The calculations made using microscopic models of the optical potential (OP), which contain physically sensed parameters. Examples of calculations of elastic and inelastic cross sections of reactions made using the distorted wave method show good agreement with experimental data. It is shown that the double-folding OP models used for calculations, as well as hybrid models using the HEA-potential, can be successfully applied to describe these processes. The results of numerical analysis of reactions involving light exotic nuclei, as well as the influence of the nuclear matter on scattering processes, are discussed.

Seminar topic: “Ab initio quantum chemical calculations: problems, methods and algorithms”
Speaker: Liudmila Siurakshina
Abstract:
A review of quantum chemical methods for solving problems in modern physics and chemistry is presented. First, the problems traditionally studied in this field are considered, and then specific results obtained by the author are presented. Further prospects for the development of quantum chemical calculations related to quantum computing are discussed.
