Venue: room 310, Laboratory of Information Technologies

Seminar topic: «Optimizing the speed and accuracy of the calculations of the main cyclotron systems and beam dynamics»

Speaker: T.V. Karamysheva

Abstract:

The development of modern particle accelerators requires an increase in the accuracy and speed of the computer simulation. Accuracy requirements are associated with electric and magnetic fields values used in accelerators. Increasing the speed of calculation is necessary to ensure the possibility of large number of numerical experiments for the calculation of the various embodiments in the search for the optimal design of the accelerator. The results and future plans of optimization methods for simulation of cyclotron systems and beam dynamics of a superconducting cyclotron for proton therapy SC202, developed at JINR LNP with computing and information support of LIT in collaboration with the Institute of Plasma Physics (Hefei, China) are presented.
