AYSS Chairman joined Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs under the President of the Russian Federation

A junior researcher of the Experimental Department of Colliding Beams of the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems JINR Vladislav Rozhkov was included in the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation. A new composition of the Coordinating Council was approved on 16 May during a meeting of the Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education.

“It is a great honour for me to join the new Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres of the Council for Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation, where I will represent the interests of young scientists not only of JINR, but also of the Moscow region,” Vladislav Rozhkov shared. ”I hope that such cooperation will be very useful for both the Institute and the Coordinating Council. In addition, it will be another step towards strengthening and establishing new ties between Dubna and other research centres and universities in Russia.”

Vladislav Rozhkov heads the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR at the Joint Institute. On 30 March this year, he was re-elected as Chairman of the AYSS Council. He is a member of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Moscow region. In addition, the young scientist became a co-author of nine publications in international peer-reviewed journals and one patent for the invention “Method for measuring intensity of radiation of unknown composition”, a grant recipient of the RFBR grant “High-resolution SPECT/CT method based on Medipix detectors” and of the RSF grant “Visualisation and quantitative analysis of biopolymers in vivo via photon counting computed tomography enhanced by nanocomposite contrast agents”.

Members of the Council for Science and Education, federal state authorities, state governmental authorities of subjects of the Russian Federation, local authorities, public associations, scientific and educational organizations suggested to include young scientists in the updated composition of the Coordinating Council.

The Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres was formed by the decision of the Presidium of the Council on Science, Education, and Technology under the President of the Russian Federation in February 2007. It is meant to ensure its interaction with young scientists and teachers, as well as public associations and organizations of young scientists, teachers, specialists, and students. Today, the Coordinating Council consists of 66 people, namely 10 doctors of sciences, 38 candidates of sciences, and 2 PhD candidates. Nikita Marchenkov heads the Coordinating Council. His chairmanship has been extended.
