On 20 May 2026, at 4:00 PM, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists at JINR invites everyone interested to the next seminar that will take place in the Big Hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club (6 Joliot-Curie St, left side).
A hematologist at Medical Unit No. 9 Raisa Valova will deliver a presentation “Acquired erythrocytosis in Dubna: survivorship bias or real cases?”.
The speaker will talk about the treatment of patients with oncohematological diseases (acute and chronic leukemias, lymphomas, paraproteinemic hemoblastoses), including in the hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT) department. The purpose of the research is to study the effect of radioactive exposure on the level of red blood cells and hemoglobin in the human body.
The seminar is part of the “Young scientists – young doctors” project, which aims to develop professional collaboration between young specialists from the Medical Unit No. 9 and young JINR scientists, fostering research-oriented clinical practice and promising interdisciplinary cooperation.
