AYSS seminar in JINR Scientists’ Club

Seminars

On 6 October 2022, at 4:00 PM, the Association of Young Scientists and Specialists of JINR invites you to the next seminar that will be held in the hall of the JINR Scientists’ Club (6, Joliot-Curie street, left side).

Inga Zinicovscaia (FLNP) will make a report “Neutrons in ecology”. Inga will talk about neutron activation analysis, which, due to its high accuracy, non-destructive nature, and the ability to determine more than 50 elements, is widely used in environmental research, archaeology, geology, and medicine. The report will present the principle of the method operation, cover advantages of the method, and demonstrate examples of neutron activation analysis use at the REGATA facility of the IBR-2 Reactor (assessment of atmospheric heavy metal deposition based on the analysis of moss biomonitors, biomonitoring of water bodies, wastewater treatment, and nanotoxicology).

There will be a small coffee break at 4:00 PM, which precedes the seminar. The report will start at 4:15 PM.

If you are going to join the event of 6 October, please take part in the survey via the link not later than 4:00 PM 5 October.
