On 9 November 2022, at 6:30 PM, the movie “Nine Days in One Year” (1961, directed by Mikhail Romm) will be shown at the JINR Universal Public Library.

The film is set during the 1960s. Two young physicists and old friends, a passionate experimental physicist Dmitry Gusev and a skeptical theoretical physicist Ilya Kulikov, are in love with a girl named Lyolya. Whilst carrying out of the experiment, Gusev receives a life-threatening radiation dose.

Before the film screening, chief researcher of the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics JINR Evgeny Shabalin will talk about the movie as a witness of its filming in Dubna. After the screening, a discussion is also planned.

The film is shown within the Festival of popular-science films FANK. The FANK programme includes films about different scientific fields and their influence on society.
