On 6 September 2017, a press tour for journalists from Tanzania was organized in cooperation with “Rusatom – International Network”.

Participants of the press tour were reporters from such media outlets as the Guardian and the East African as well as representatives from the Communications Department of “Rusatom – International Network”.

During the press tour, the participants were received at the Dzhelepov Laboratory of Nuclear Problems, the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics and the Laboratory of Radiation Biology. The programme included visiting the DLNP Medico-Technical Complex (MTC), the FLNP IBR-2 reactor; furthermore, the journalists were lucky to see the LRB/FLNP stand for modelling different kinds of planetary soils, which has been recently opened for tests of nuclear planetary science instruments.

The journalists were particularly interested in proton therapy conducted at JINR MTC, which is the only scientific research centre in Russia where the 3D conformal radiotherapy techniques are employed.
