At an extended meeting of the JINR Directorate

A regular extended meeting of the JINR Directorate, which was held on 4 April 2013, was devoted to the milestones of the March session of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the JINR Member States and a number of issues of current activities of the JINR Directorate.
JINR Director V.A. Matveev opened the meeting and highly appreciated the results of the session, touching upon topical issues, in particular aspects of disagreement of a number of the JINR Member States in assessment of a new method of calculation of members’ contribution to the JINR budget.
JINR Chief Scientific Secretary N.A. Russakovich reported about the results of the elections of a new membership of the JINR Scientific Council, which is elected for a term of five years and initiatives of the JINR Directorate in extended integration in the European scientific community.
Chairman of the United Trade Union Committee-22 V.P. Nikolaev informed participants of the meeting about the milestones of the JINR staff conference devoted to the status of compliance of the Collective agreement between JINR Directorate and JINR for 2011–2013. V.A. Matveev, D.V. Shirkov, N.A. Russakovich, S.Z. Pakulyak adressed the speaker with questions and comments.
DLNP Director A.G. Olshevski presented information about the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first Director of the JINR Laboratory of Nuclear Problems RAS Corresponding Member Venedict Dzelepov. Events dedicated to the significant date, which will be held on the concluding day of the AYSS-2013 Conference on 12 April in the DLNP Conference hall will be webcasted live.
BLTP Honorary Director D.V. Shirkov proposed to participants of the meeting a topic “STC in the past and the future” for discussion. A new STC Chairman R.V. Jolos (new STC Chairman), V.A. Matveev, M.G. Itkis, S.N. Dmitriev together with the initiator of the discussion participated in the discussion for the optimal status of this body.
