NEC-2015

The 25th International Symposium on Nuclear Electronics & Computing (NEC’2015) was held on 28 September – 2 October 2015 in Budva, the Republic of Montenegro. This Symposium has been a traditional event of JINR since 1963 and it’s the eighth time when JINR and CERN have organized the Symposium. The Symposium was attended by 120 leading specialists in the fields of modern computer and network technology distributed computing and nuclear electronics from 15 countries.

A workshop, a round table and an International Student School on modern information technology which was attended by 40 students from leading Russian universities, were held in the frames of the Symposium.

At the opening of the Symposium welcome speeches were given by: Minister of Education of Montenegro Predrag Boshkovic, JINR Director Victor Matveev, Tadeusz Kurtyka from CERN, Russian Ambassador in Montenegro Sergei Gritcai, Head of the local organizing committee Andrey Khrgian, representatives of sponsoring organizations.

The scientific programme of the Symposium covered a wide range of issues and had a noticeably high level of reports of well-known scientists, as well as of creative youth. At the closing of the Symposium the best reports of young scientists were awarded with diplomas. Diplomas were awarded to the best projects of participants of the Students School.

On the last day of the Symposium, JINR Director Victor Matveev and Director of the Hotel Splendid Žarko Radulović signed a memorandum on holding various scientific conferences of JINR.

Many participants of the Symposium and Students School visited Montenegro for the first time and were impressed by the beauty of this country, its nature, culture and hospitality of the people of Montenegro.
