Revolution Day in Arab Republic of Egypt

Organization, 23 July 2025

23 July marks the Revolution Day in the Arab Republic of Egypt, a Member State of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The Revolution Day is a national holiday dedicated to the anniversary of the Egyptian Revolution of 1952.

The Joint Institute and Egyptian national scientific centres have a long-standing history dating back to the late 1960s. Since then, fruitful scientific cooperation of Egyptian physicists with JINR researchers continues to strengthen and extend. The Arab Republic of Egypt is a JINR Member State since 2022.

In 2025, Egyptian scientists are participating in research on 15 topics of the JINR Topical Plan, including theoretical and neutron physics, condensed matter physics, IT field, studies at the NICA Accelerator Complex, the development of large JINR research infrastructure as well as personnel training. The joint interests of scientists from Egypt and JINR also include radiobiology, in particular, the study of molecular genetic mechanisms of adaptations of extremophilic organisms and the creation of a single-photon emission computed microtomograph to study the delivery of radiopharmaceuticals.

The Directorate of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research congratulates Egyptian colleagues on Revolution Day and wishes them good health, happiness, well-being, and new professional successes for the benefits of science and progress!
